In 1984 Sandra Spahn received her masters degree in counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and began accumulating her required 3,000 hours of supervised experience. Her private practice experience began in a large counseling center in Janesville, Wisconsin in August, 1988.

It was at this time, after being a salary counselor for 8 years, she began studying hypnotherapy. She had learned "talk therapy" alone was not creating the permanent life changes people were looking for. In 1988 she received her training and certification in hypnotherapy. Since that time she incorporates all levels of consciousness when working with clients. Guided imagery is frequently used in conjunction with talk therapy.

In 1992 Sandra designed and hired a contracter to build Lake Ripley Counseling Center near Madison, Wisconsin. This center, overlooking a private beach and (3) 75' peirs on beautiful Lake Ripley reflected Sandra's love for and connection to nature. She sold this practice and chose to move to the south...no more blizzards and sub-zero temperatures...

Alpharetta Counseling Center, started in September 2004 is located away from downtown traffic in a rural-like country setting 5 miles from Alpharetta. Sandra enjoys counseling around her fireplace in a wooded setting. She has 25 years experience in the counseling profession.
